A life long favorite. Yellow or Green it is a Finn thing
Wash and rinse the split peas. Let sit overnight in a large pot with two inches of water. Drain and add two quarts of water and the bone . Bring to a boil, add celery, carrot, onion cover and reduce to simmer.
Simmer two hours or until thickened.
This is a wonderful winter soup. I enjoy it anytime of the year.
