What is Buena Ventura?
Buena Ventura is the ship my great-uncle died on in WWI, September 14, 1918. It was sunk by a German submarine torpedo. He body was never recovered. In his honor I named my 1983 Ocean Yachts 46 Sunliner after the vessel he died on. Hopefully there are no more German or even Russian submarines patrolling the Chesapeake Bay.
What are you doing with BV?
This boat needs some rebuilding of floors and windows, repair of all the systems and to be recommissioned and returned to travelling the Bay and Atlantic.
Do you have other plans for her?
Of course! Once she is sea worthy again I plan to take her up and down the Chesapeake Bay, down to Florida and the Caribbean.
